Animal Precinct - Season FIVE
Episode #1
ASPCA Special Investigator Annemarie Lucas and Special Agent Henry Ruiz receive a complaint about malnourished dogs in the Bronx. A foul smell is reportedly emanating from the house where they’re kept. To the agents' horror, they find a house full of beagles, living in vile conditions. Special Agents Tina Salaks and Richie Ryan follow up on a call about a man beating his dog. They soon establish that the allegation is misguided, and they are dealing with an owner who has been seriously ill and is struggling to cope with looking after his beloved pet.
Episode #2
ASPCA Special Agent Richie Raheb responds to a call from Animal Care & Control of New York City about a dog, Snoop, who has just been brought to them with serious burns. Raheb establishes that the dog was being mistakenly treated with motor oil for mange—and was then set alight. Snoop has survived the ordeal, but he’s in terrible pain. In Brooklyn, Special Agent Kristi Adams interviews a fire captain who has information about a man who allegedly threw his cat into a barbed wire fence. Meanwhile, Special Agents Tina Salaks and Richie Ryan check out a complaint about a skinny horse at a rundown stable yard.
Love in the Bronx—premieres Monday, April 17, 10:00 P.M. EST
Richie Ryan and Adam Gankiewicz, the Starsky and Hutch of the Animal Precinct team, spring into wise-cracking action when they rescue two dogs in the Bronx. They rename the dogs Cassidy and Jack Straw, after songs by Ryan's favorite band, the Grateful Dead. A healthy Cassidy finds himself back in the Bronx—but this time around, he has a new, loving owner. Meanwhile, Special Investigator Dianne DiGiacomo rescues two injured dogs tied to a public railing. She renames the dogs Solomon and Abraham.
Bonnie and Clyde—premieres Tuesday, April 18, 10:00 P.M. EST
When Special Agent Joann Sandano rescues two young pit bulls, Bonnie and Clyde, the dogs’ lives take a turn for the better. Special Agent Michael Tietje investigates the case of a cat who makes a miraculous recovery after having been pushed out of a fifth-floor window.
Brought to Justice—premieres Wednesday, April 19, 10:00 P.M. EST
Special Agent Raheb responds to a complaint about a dog with an injured leg. The dog is living outside without shelter, and his leg looks to have been broken and left untreated. While Jake, the dog, recovers from surgery, Raheb begins a challenging investigation. Special Investigator Lucas answers a report about a family of kittens abandoned in an old van. She reunites the family, takes them to the ASPCA’s Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital for a medical check-up, and then fosters them.
A Warm Home—premieres Thursday, April 20, 10:00 P.M. EST
Special Agent Sandano races to the Bergh Memorial Hospital with a young mother dog and two puppies who have hypothermia. Will she make it in time to give them a chance at a new life? A skinny dog named Asia is brought in by the owner, who blames his friend for failing to look after the dog for him while he was in the hospital. Asia is nursed back to health and fostered by a rescue agency called Bobby and the Strays.
Raheb’s Raccoon—premieres Friday April 21, 10:00 P.M. EST
Special Agent Raheb receives a call about a dog kept on a roof—but when he arrives at the location, he finds a raccoon in a trap instead. Closer examination shows that the raccoon has been left in the trap for a long time; the law, as Raheb knows, states that traps should be checked every 12 hours. Raheb begins a determined quest to stop illegal trapping in New York, and with the help of police from the Department of Environment and Conservation, he confronts the trapping company. Meanwhile, Special Investigator Lucas and Special Agent Adams investigate a dog in poor conditions. With the help of the NYPD, they arrest the owner at the Staten Island Court House.
